Ian Oldaker - Experienced in Theater Productions and Building Museums

Based in Pittsburgh, Ian Oldaker has an extensive background in building museum operations and draws on experience managing Off-Broadway theater productions. From 2017 to 2020, he served as chief operating officer and general manager of Spyscape. With Spyscape, Ian Oldaker oversaw an interactive Manhattan experience that combines education and entertainment, and provides visitors a chance to immerse themselves in the history and techniques of spy craft.

Mr. Oldaker’s experience extends to a past role as vice president of operations and planning with the National September 11 Memorial & Museum. In this position he helped expand a facility that provides a permanent tribute to those who lost their lives in the events of 9/11, as well as those part of the community rebuilding process.

Mr. Oldaker holds a BA earned in history at Loyola University in Maryland, and he minored in drama study and political science. While earning his MFA degree at Brooklyn College he took part in various student theater productions, writing his thesis on the roles in Richard Greenberg’s 1997 play "Three Days of Rain.” Passionate about canines, Ian Oldaker has adopted a mixed Carolina dog named Taco from a shelter in the southern United States.
